Affirmations are taking on a new and powerful role in my life. Once I dismissed them as wishful thinking and a childish repeating of magic words. Now, I am discovering their power to shift the thought habits in my mind and allow me to see new possibilities ahead.
The basic premise is that our thoughts literally create our reality. The creation of habitual thought patterns establishes physical neurological connections that lead us to the same old inner judgements and conclusions about life. It takes focus and repetition to loosen the old thought patterns and develop new ones.
Trusting a connection with a loving Universe, I allow an affirmation to arise that feels true in the depths of my being. I ask my heart/soul for signs of recognition, not my mind. When a statement sparks within my heart, I let it become my companion for a number of days or weeks.
This companionship includes writing them out five times each morning and again each evening, letting both hand and eyes reinforce the words. I also find them bubbling up as I sit under the stars, hike the canyon trail, or sit knitting. The times when, unattended, my mind would tend to return to old patterns of worry that reinforce old connections, I invite affirmations instead.
My main challenge right now is being open to a new expression of my gifts in the world. So, some of my current favorites are:
“Creativity flows from the Sacred Source, through me, to bring healing and transformation to my life and the lives of others.”
“As I walk away from the prisons of my culture, I am guided and sustained along a new path.”
“As I move forward, one step as a time, led by the One Source, my Earth Walk purpose is being fulfilled.”
“I am an expression of the light and a child of the Earth.”
It takes time to train my eyes to see these affirmations coming into reality in my daily life. I am not in the habit of believing the expansive and creative messages they contain. It is only now after some weeks of practice that I am catching glimpses of how they are taking tangible form.
This practice may seem difficult, silly, crazy or useless at the beginning. All of these are the judgements of a mind conditioned to limit, define and categorize our lives to death. Sink deeper. Let the voice of your heart echo above the chatter of your mind. Once you find your first phrase and begin doing the work of reinforcing new open pathways in your mind, you will be amazed at what will emerge.
opened your email first thing today. just came back from a an intensive in Concord yesterday on “Theoretical and Practical Foundations of Physical Vascular Therapy”. One of the presenters was a woman from Arizona whom I had never met before and her presentation was on “Purpose, Quanta and Electro Magnetism: Implications for Vibrational Wholeness”. I think this softened and opened me to read your writing in an open and receptive way. You are practicing what the science of Quanta knows and that is that energy appears solid only when we observe it as it is a wave actually. By your focusing on your intensions you are creating into being that which you focus on and that is becoming a part of who you are. A retraining of your awareness through observation and practice. Lovely to read and a reinforcement for me on my path. I am just so delighted that you are in this world and that I know you and have you as my dearest friend. Please keep writing!
